At 77 years of age, I thank God that He has preserved my hearing and fingers so I can still hear and play the piano for my own enjoyment.
I started out playing at 9 years old, crawling through the window of the church to play, and envisioned angels taking the sounds I was creating to homeless people (we called them hobos) to make them happy.
In 2015, at age 73, the love of my life passed away, and I didn’t want to play anymore! I turned to writing our unusual love story and discovered a new talent of writing. I thought I was done playing piano!
After 7 years of not playing , I walked into my church one Sunday night and they were singing acapella.
I felt badly and told the worship leader I could fill in when needed.
Some weeks later, I was needed and 3 years later I’m still filling in!
I’m beginning to get my ear training back and learning and relearning so much, and enjoy playing again.
I guess God hasn’t finished with me yet!
Now when I play, it’s up to angels to do their job. Maybe one or two of them will play their harp with me!
