From The Desk Of Suzie Tyler
Do you ever look back at your life and wonder, “Why did I have this struggle or that struggle?”
In my youth, I had been taught to “Trust Go,” even when I didn’t understand!
Now that I’m in my eighties, it’s easier to look back with 20/20 vision and see how those things that happened brought me closer to God, and I grew from it!
Do I always have the right attitude? Of course not! My personality is prone to reacting and panicking, but I think I stay panicked for a shorter time now than in my younger years. At least I hope so but God is ‘still working on me,’ and He’s still working on you!
I can remember in my twenties, I was so fearful that if I messed up, I would miss the rapture.
There was one time when Diane was 4 or 5, and I woke up and went to her bedroom to check on her. She was not in her bed. Instead of thinking someone could have kidnapped her, I immediately thought I had missed hearing the trumpet of God. It was genuine fear!
Later, after my marriage to Odis, he explained some scriptures to me, and I listened to teachings that helped me feel secure in my relationship with the Lord. I learned that once I accepted Jesus, He would not let go of me!
Salvation doesn’t give us a license to sin, but it does give us Grace and a loving Father who wants us to succeed spiritually. He is our biggest cheerleader!
Know that God loves you and is not some big ogre standing in Heaven just waiting for you to mess up so He can thump you into hell!
If there is anything you take from my thoughts today, it is that God loves you and wants you to succeed in all aspects of the physical and spiritual realms!
He is for you and not against you. He wants first place in your heart, and your spiritual growth is important to Him.
Love God, worship only Him, and be secure in your relationship with your Heavenly Father! Talk with him every day!
