Birthing a child makes you a mother but being a good mother requires constant work!
Kids should come with a book of instructions! But, I quoted Isaiah 54:13 a lot and claimed that promise! ‘All your children shall be taught of the LORD, and great shall be the peace (and undisturbed composure) of your children.’🧒
I was hard-nosed on my girls and my inherited boys because I wanted them to be perfect kids!
They were grown before I realized that for them to be perfect, they had to be allowed to make choices, some good, and some bad but growth would come from it. I didn’t realize that by protecting them until they were grown, I was unleashing them to a world that was ready to eat them alive with no tools to survive.
As a mother, you never give up that desire to protect them from hurt and pain. There are some things in life you can’t fix, the pain of a broken relationship or marriage, the pain of the loss of a child and even career challenges.
Each child will learn that the God you serve and taught them about will sustain them. If they trust and obey God, He will take their mistakes and turn them around for their good!
Young people today face challenges my generation never thought of. As grandparents and great-grandparents, we must teach them and pray every day over each one of them and entrust them to God.
