From the Desk of Suzie Tyler

In a world where everything changes and nothing stays the same. The whirl of time is so fast you want to say:  “Stop the world and let me off.”

If you were not raised in a world of technology, you can feel lost but my curiosity gets the best of me! I want to be bold and explore new horizons!

I recently watched a TikTok video of a young Hindu man on his approach to lead a person of Indian heritage to the Lord, and then read this question in a blog.

“Why don’t you try reading God’s Word through the lens of another culture?”

This question/statement made me stop and ponder!

It is something I’ve missed for sure. I was raised in a spiritual culture of one-mindedness that this is the only way and to walk in it their way. Not saying their way was wrong but some of the interpretation was misguided.

I had to move to a different region where it was just “me and Jesus.”  I was forced to open my eyes and see what was important – the love of Jesus with a relationship not a mechanical religion of rules. Yes, we are to conduct ourselves to be reverent and dress modest but styles of acceptability change from one generation to the next. A one-piece boy-legged swimsuit would not have been accepted in 1930 and a bikini would have landed you in jail!

As we get older the things in life lose their fascination! Your purchases change! You don’t buy green bananas, you purchase things in the light of need in days, not years.

We can’t forget about the next generations and why we are here. The answer is found in the book of Titus.

As older men and women we are to live reverent and teach the younger men and women what is good, and to not bring shame to God. You know, be a good spiritual role model.

From the look at some of the current Tic Tok videos, we have a great mission laid out for us!  Help Jesus!!
