Sep 7 From the Desk of Suzie Tyler

My vision of a writer was someone sitting at a typewriter, repeatedly yanking a page out of the carriage, and throwing the crumpled pages in a wastebasket because of a mistyped sentence.

I’m one of those folks who never thought I was a writer but had a story to tell. There is a book in all of us. If you begin typing your thoughts, before long, it’s a book.

Every year on Valentine’s Day, my friends encouraged me to write a condensed version of my love story, telling how we dated, lost contact, and got back together. The impossibility of finding each other again in a world without technology or the internet was a stroke of luck. With 450 miles separating us for 15 years, we knew getting back together without a Google app was a “God thing.”

In September 2015, I began putting my experiences on paper to share our love story using information from hundreds of letters written during our seven-month courtship.

The first line of the first chapter introduces a dramatic event you never expect from a love story. It has taken over seven years to complete, and there were many tears, joy, and pain, but the accomplishment of seeing my ‘This is your life’ in print has been worth every minute.

I hope the words of Odis’s letters will inspire you to love from your heart and write letters, not emails or text messages that can get lost in cyberspace. My writing experience has helped me realize the time an author spends researching and tweaking a book and has given me a new appreciation of them.

Walking into a bookstore now, I don’t only see books, but the hours it took to be written. I hope reading my book will put a twinkle in your eye, bring a memory to your thoughts, and an Agape love to your heart. If you don’t like love stories, my new book may not be for you, but I believe my story is pretty amazing.

You can follow me on my blog, SuzieTK Snippets. I love technology and will give you tidbits of information on anything from makeup tips to music tips and everything in between. I have a wealth of knowledge in my brain!! If I can access the hard drive, I will blog about it and put a smile on your face.
